Shake Gestures Library – A Windows Phone Recipe In this post I present an algorithm for detecting shake gestures on a Windows Phone system using the accelerometer sensor. This is by far my favorite post since I actually needed to use some math to solve this one.   How To Use a .NET 4 Based DLL...

All is set: Conference ticket – check. Plane ticket – check. Hotel – check. Build – Here I come! If everything goes as scheduled, in approx. a month and a half I'll be on the plane to Anaheim California, heading to the biggest conference Microsoft ever produced. Build (AKA PDC 2011) will be all about Windows 8. From some research I've done, which from obvious reasons can't be disclosed at this stage, Windows 8 is going to bring...

CodeProject MVP 2011 & MCTS

Thursday, January 6, 2011

I’ve recently been announced that I was awarded the CodeProject MVP award for the year 2011! The list of 2011 winners can be found here. In this list you can find respectful members of the WPF community like: Josh Smith, Pete O'Hanlon, Sacha Barber and many more. It is an honor for me to be part of this list. In addition, I am now a MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist) in Windows Application Development using .NET Framework 4, which basically means I passed Microsoft’s official WPF exam. That’s it...

TechEd Israel 2010: Day 1 Summary

Monday, November 29, 2010

My journey to TechEd began with a flight at 12:30 from Natbag, courtesy of Microsoft (thanks again Michal). Unfortunately, since my flight was at 12:30 (and actually left at 13:00), I had no chance of make it in time to the first session, “Developers Tools and Technologies Keynote” by Jason Zander. This was especially annoying since the entire session revolved around a project I’ve been personally working on for the last few months, named FlashCards.Show. In FlashCards.Show I’ve ported a WPF reference application to both a Silverlight web application and a Windows Phone application. ...

Happy Blog Day #1

Thursday, September 9, 2010

It has been a year since I’ve started blogging and I think this is a good point for thinking where I was , where I am and where I’m going. In this year I’ve written 46 posts. Not bad, but not nearly as much as I want or as much ideas I have for posts. Unfortunately, (or fortunately?) I enjoy my work so much that I often find myself practicing it on my spare time, leaving less time for blogging. The topics I’ve blogged about where mostly Windows 7 related features (over 70%), the rest is divided...
