Volume to capture drop menu may appear empty while trying to capture image by using Microsoft Windows Deployment Services (WDS)

Tuesday, January 3, 2012

After launching WinPE boot image and starting the image capturing wizard, the volume to capture drop menu may appear blank. To resolve this issue, please use one of the following solutions: 1. Add to the capture WinPE boot image the Mass Storage Device driver/s (e.g. Raid adapter driver, SATA adapter driver etc.). 2. Verify that Sysprep was set to use “Sysprep /generalize” mode. * The Microsoft Windows Deployment Services (WDS) don’t support capturing of images that wasn’t set to use generalize option.
