Introduction

The following article cover the required steps that need to be implemented to enable “Auto Negotiation” settings by using Windows PowerShell.

Prerequisites

The commands in this article need to be initiate under Elevated Powershell mode.

powershell -Command "Start-Process PowerShell –Verb RunAs"

Enable Auto Negotiation Settings

Set the value of e* Network Adapter “Speed & Duplex” settings to “Auto Negotiation”:

Set-NetAdapterAdvancedProperty -Name e* -DisplayName “Speed & Duplex” -DisplayValue “Auto Negotiation” –NoRestart

Reset all the advanced parameters back to default value:

Reset-NetAdapterAdvancedProperty e* –DisplayName “Speed & Duplex”

Remote Execution

Enter-PSSession -Credential(Get-Credential) -ComputerName <remotehost>

Use PsExec
