On SCCM 2012 you try to deploy a task sequence on a bare metal computer and when the task sequence starts running it fails right away with the error 00000046

after I viewed the smsts.log I  saw the following error message:

Failed to run the action: Use Toolkit Package.
The remote server has been paused or is in the process of being started. (Error: 00000046; Source: Windows)

A few rows above I saw the following:

ZTI ERROR – Unhandled error returned by ZTISCCM: Permission denied (70)
Command line returned 70
Process completed with exit code 70

The Problem

We have MDT 2012 integrated in our SCCM 2012 environment
obviously ,the error points that the problem comes from the Toolkit Package
but when I checked the package and compared it to the distribution point content it seems like the data is up to date so updating the distribution point won’t help here

As the error above shows – the problem is not the content but the permission to the content itself
The content is part of the distribution point  which have  a read access for all the users

Well… the problem is the combination of the file Autorun.inf and the Antivirus on the distribution point itself
The Antivirus (in our case , Mcafee Enterprise Scan) denies the access to every autorun.inf it finds
The Autorun.inf is located under the MDT Package\Scripts folder

The Solution

Exclude the autorun.inf file from the Antivirus management

In my case , I just delete the autorun.inf from the package files and redistributed the content. I have 4 task sequences and I checked them again after deleting the file
The problem was solved and they completed successfully

Good Luck Smile
