The Git Hole
Tweet I consider myself a calm person with plenty of tolerance, I believe in productive discussion and love it – Part of my job as a consultant is to talk with Teams and explain them why you should choose a specific product over another, in 99.9% of those meetings there is one guy that don’t like the change (No One Like Changes) and you need in a calm way to explain and show him the benefits of the new tool – Forcing someone to do something is never a good thing. But sometimes there is no wining...

Administrative Report Pack for Team Foundation Server 2010
Administrative Report Pack for Team Foundation Server 2010 Couple of days ago Grant Holliday's post about new Reports pack for TFS admins to answer the following question: How long is cube processing taking? How much time elapses between processing jobs? How often do the processing jobs run? Do errors occur with when the cube is processed? Process Times: Current Processing Status This table tells you whether the warehouse is currently being processed or when it will be processed next. The Next...

How to Change an Existing TFS 2010 Report
Sometimes the default reports that come with the TFS process templates are not 100% compatible with the clients needs or desires. Luckily for us these reports can be changed customized as we wish. 1) First of all we must open the process template manager, and download the same process template that the team project in which we want to change the report uses. 2) Do steps 1 to 4 from this post How to Add TFS 2010 Report to a Team Project . 3) After these steps instead of creating a new report...

How to Add TFS 2010 Report to a Team Project
Sometimes the reports that come with TFS 2010 are not enough and we want to create are own custom reports. Beside creating the report itself there is a process of Adding it to a specific Team Project. This can done easily with a few simple steps: 1) First of all open “SQL Server 2008 Business Intelligence Development Studio”. 2) In the studio open a new report Project. 3) Add a data source to the project. 4) Set the data source to your local TFS data base. 5) Add a report...

Hide Columns By Condition in TFS Reports
I was asked to create a TFS report that will show all the changes that where made in “Requirement” work items in the last tow weeks. The problem was that I didn’t want to see columns that are empty… What I did is to take from the data base everything, but if one of the columns das not hold any changes(data) it will simply be hidden. Example: I have a report that one of the columns returned no values, but it might next time. I would like to hide this column only when it is empty in all the...

In the Webcast Brian shows a few examples of reports from Team System 2008 and how to create custom reports in Team System 2010 using Excel. Have Fun!!!

Some Team Foundation Server 2008 Reports give errors with SQL Server 2008
Some Team Foundation Server 2008 Reports give errors with SQL Server 2008 Some reports will generate errors, when no errors occur with the same reports if used against SQL Server 2005. How To: Rebuild the Team System Cube
There are times when you need to rebuild the Team System cube, the common scenarios are: whenever you move, restore, rename, or fail over the data-tier server. The Team System cube is what the Reporting Services is using in order to create the Team System reports. To perform these procedures, you must have the following permissions in SQL Server: You must be a member of the sysadmin security group for the database instance for Team Foundation and for the Analysis Services database instance of the...
