The value of these resources is greatly enhanced by participants like you, who voluntarily contribute your time and energy to improve the online community experience for others...

  • Third Year in a Row

Third Year in a Row Yesterday I received the mail from Microsoft that congratulate me for being a Microsoft MVP for the third time. It’s is a honor for me to get the award three years in a row. This time the receiving of the mail was somewhat weird since I saw on Twitter that people got the mail and I didn’t get it… Apparently, my Gmail mail account (which is my personal mail account) “thought” that the congratulation mail is spam and moved it into the spam directory. This of course shows the true...
  • Build 2011, Here I Come!

All is set: Conference ticket – check. Plane ticket – check. Hotel – check. Build – Here I come! If everything goes as scheduled, in approx. a month and a half I'll be on the plane to Anaheim California, heading to the biggest conference Microsoft ever produced. Build (AKA PDC 2011) will be all about Windows 8. From some research I've done, which from obvious reasons can't be disclosed at this stage, Windows 8 is going to bring the biggest revolution since .NET was invented. I...
  • When something become a main stream it is no longer a niche

Microsoft has shut down its Windows Phone MVP program ; they will reopen it as more consumer-focused group. I don't know all the reasons for that, and I would appreciate if they could rearrange the group without retire all mobile MVPs, but I think that there is something else that this news tells us. Windows Phone is not a niche, it is part of something bigger, and the client/consumer device story is changing. We consume information through our PC, Phone, Slate device, TV, Xbox. All of them are...

  • WPF 4 Multitouch Application testing with Microsoft Touch Mouse

One of the greatest features in WPF 4 is the built-in support of Windows 7 multitouch gestures. Developing multitouch applications for Windows 7 you should have a special multitouch screen, and usually you don't have it, at least not in your development laptop. So you have to buy one, or use the PDC 2009 laptop: Acer Aspire 1420P give-away. The problem in such case is that you'll have to use remote-debug to debug your multitouch gestures, and it's awkward. There are several NUI alternatives...
