On Monday we held the third meeting of Israeli ALM User group. This session was dedicated to Team Build features. Excellent presentation was held by Dudu Shmaya from Clarizen. Dudu is extremely smart guy and we are always happy to work with him.
We are still working on user group home page. In the meanwhile, you can download complete slide deck and demo projects from here. Presentation and demos from our previous session (dedicatted to Testing) can be found here.
The third meeting will take place on the 14 of May in its regular location. (microsoft offices in Raanana)
This month we'll focus on the Team Build capabilities - those that come 'out-of-the-box' and extensive customization issues.
Our speaker is Dudu Shamaya http://notsosmartbuilder.blogspot.com/. I deeply recommend a tour in his blog - this guy has a lot to say about TFS in general and the build mechanism in particular.
see you there.
Sarit and I just landed in Redmond to participate in Team System Software Design Review. Tomorrow morning we start a 3 days of intensive sessions with members of VSTS development teams. During these sessions we will give feedback from the field, discuss and prioritize new features. We will talk mostly about features of post-Orcas version (temporary code name Rosario). I hope results of following days work will influence the shape of the new version. It is an extremely interesting experience for us. We will do our best to pass forward requests, suggestions and complains we’ve collect from the many...
The meeting will take place this Monday (the 13th) on the usual time and location - Dekel hall, Microsoft offices in Raanana on 17:30.
I'm attaching the meeting's presentation, the demos will available next week for download as well.
This month's meeting is about Visual Studio for Tester, we will start with a methodological discussion about the tester role and delve into extensive implementations.

Dudu Shmaya is an experienced codesmith who is recently focusing on TFS customization and tooling. Dudu has published a new utility on CodePlex called TFSBuildManger. The utility manages build types outside the IDE and includes some very usefull feature like:
start and stop a build
change the build quality
delete or backup a build
edit the build type
The utility is a substantial edition to the growing list of community TFS utils.
