Automation Runner – Running Tests Without Visual Studio

Wednesday, April 8, 2015

I’m often asked to provide a solution for testers who wants to run automation but don’t want to work with Visual Studio (Or don’t have a license). You can run automation using MSTest or using VSTEST.Console command line tools, working with command line isn’t simple and friendly for testers:     1. Test Methods – How do I know which tests available in each Test Assembly?     2. Running list of tests – I what to control which tests to run and manage my own test plans.     3. Reporting – I want to get real time status on...

TFS Cleaner Tool

Thursday, December 11, 2014

I few weeks ago I wrote a post about Control\Reduce TFS DB Size after received a “There is not enough space on the disk” message. That post shows how to identify what Test Attachments types are taking so much space and using the MS Test Attachment Cleaner to remove them from TFS repository. Two things, first I don’t like using Command Line tool – I prefer UI, so using MS Test Attachment Cleaner isn’t my favorite. Second, there are other things beside Test Attachment what consume a lot of space in TFS. So I decide to create a...

Could not establish trust relationship for SSL/TLS secure channel

Thursday, June 26, 2014

Working with WebClient to fetch some data from a web service (HTTPS) return an error, now it’s fully understandable why this exception raised – the server certificate has expired and isn’t valid any more. But how I can still getting the data from the service although the certificate isn’t valid??? You just need to override the ServerCertificateValidationCallback property - Gets or sets the callback to validate a server certificate. System.Net.ServicePointManager.ServerCertificateValidationCallback = delegate(object sender, X509Certificate certificate, X509Chain chain, SslPolicyErrors sslPolicyErrors) { return true; }; And you’re done!

Copy Source As Html-Visual Studio 11

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

Tweet I think this is a most tool for any blogger out there, most of my posts contains Source Code examples and pasting Source Code without Colors and Format is just ugly. In Visual Studio 2010 Microsoft released the Productivity Tools that has the Copy Source Code as Html built in, also there is a CodePlex project - http://copysourceashtml.codeplex.com/ that supports Visual Studio 2005 and 2008. Because Productivity Tools for Visual Studio 11 Beta isn’t out yet I’ve modified the CopySourceAsHtml project to Visual Studio 11 Beta + Some code changes (Bad performance loading visual studio). You can download executable from Here You can download Source Code from Here *** Deleting Work Item Action Is Not Recoverable *** Enjoy

SharePoint API – Download \ Upload Documents (Tool)

Thursday, October 27, 2011

Tweet A long time ago I wrote about SharePoint 2007 Files Restore Tool, tool that allows you to connect to SharePoint content database (not need to have SharePoint installation) and extract documents. The reason I wrote this tool was a customer that upgrade TFS and perform a new installation of SharePoint so he lost all his documents, this tool helped me to extract all documents and added them to the new SharePoint site. SharePoint upgrade/migration can be unpleasant and sometimes I prefer to do a clean installation when upgrading or moving TFS and then just import the documents...

So, I’ve decided to write some pure (don’t want to download JQuery or any other library) JavaScript to help me do that, this script will work locally and you only need to open the html file on your machine. Download YouTube Download Html (Right Click and Save) I’ve add a Text input called...
