Rest in peace, my colleague and our friend, Nimrod Segev
Last Thursday evening I got a call that my colleague Nimrod Segev from Israel had passed away. He was one of the four reservists that were killed when their tank was hit on Aug 9, 2006 by an anti-tank missile in Ayta al-Shaab.
I met Nimrod at IT Forum 2005 last year where he was a speaker, delivering a Windows Vista session together with Alexander Holy. We talked about the session before and after, he came to see my session and we got to know each other. In 2006 he invited me to speak at TechEd Israel. We spoke on the phone many times and eventally both Daniel and I went there and delivered sessions on Windows Vista. He was a fantastic colleague and our friend.
My thoughts go out to his wife, his two kids and family that are left behind. Rest in peace Nimrod, I won’t forget you.
