User Settings Entity Privilege
The User Settings Entity under the Business Management tab in a Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Security Role, controls users ability to update personal settings using the File-> Options menu.
This enables the Application Administration to disable some users from setting properties like language, Outlook synchronization settings (which may have a negative impact on performance) and more.
Make sure each Security Role you update/create have at least User access level for the Read privilege. This will allow the user to read his User Settings but not to update any. Setting None access level will not allow the user to view grid records.
The lack of a detailed guide to the different Entities and Access Levels listed in Security Roles for Microsoft Dynamics CRM makes any privileges issue into a trial and error effort which consumes expensive time. I anyone knows of such guide, please let me know.
