.Net Framework Source Code to be Available with Visual Studio 2008
Along with the release of Visual Studio 2008 later this year, Microsoft is making the source code of parts of of the .NET Framework Libraries under the Microsoft Reference License. The set of libraries initially includes the Base Class Libraries (System namespace, IO, Text, Collections, CodeDom, Regular Expressions, etc), ASP.NET, WinForms, and WPF. Microsoft will add to this list as time goes on.
When Visual Studio 2008 ships, developers will be able to accept to the terms of the agreement, and download a package of the shared libraries. Additionally, Visual Studio 2008 Integration supports debugging the framework source code using symbols published via a web server.
