Hotfix: Performance and Editor fixes for Microsoft Visual Studio 2008

HTML Source view performance

Source editor freezes for a few seconds when typing in a page with a custom control that has more than two levels of sub-properties.
“View Code” right-click context menu command takes a long time to appear with web application projects.
Visual Studio has very slow behavior when opening large HTML documents.
Visual Studio has responsiveness issues when working with big HTML files with certain markup.
The Tab/Shift-Tab (Indent/Un-indent) operation is slow with large HTML selections.

Design view performance

HTML editing

Quotes are not inserted after Class or CssClass attribute even when the option is enabled.
Visual Studio crashes when ServiceReference element points back to the current web page.

JavaScript editing

When opening a JavaScript file, colorization of the client script is sometimes delayed several seconds.
JavaScript Intellisense does not work if an empty string property is encountered before the current line of editing.

Web Site build performance

Build is very slow when Bin folder contains large number of assemblies and .refresh files with web-site projects.

ענקיות התוכנה בשיתוף openID

היום דווחנו כי ענקיות התוכנה Microsoft IBM ו- YAHOO ישתפו פעולה מעכשיו עם הוועדה של OpenID

למי שעדיין לא מכיר את OpenID , מדובר בקרן עצמאית של מפתחים ששמה מטרה להקל על נושא הססמאות של המשתמשים באינטרנט

OpenID מאפשר כניסה עם שם המשתמש וסיסמה יחיד לכל האתרים המותאמים למערכת, השימוש ב-OpenID חוסך למפתחים ניהול חשבונות וסממאות,

ומצמצם את הסיכונים בפרצות אבטחה (כמעט).

והמשמעות למעשה היא היכרות ברצון לתמוך בשיטה החדשה ולהשתמש בה על מנת לאפשר למשתמשים להיכנס לאתרים שבאמתחתם באמצעות openID

אני אישית חושב שצעד זה הינו צעד מבורך שיקל על הגולשים ויותר חשוב עליינו כמפתחי אתרים , זהו בדיוק ה"פוש" שאותה קבצוה צריכה

על מנת להצעיד את הרעיון צעד קדימה .

נקודה חשובה היא אבטחת המידע של המשתמשים , מה יקרה עם הקוד שלי ל- OpenID יפול לידיים הלא נכונות, כל המידע שלי ברשת

יאבד או יותר חמור יהיה שייך למישהו אחר , למעשה הזהות שלי תגנב !

נקודה נוספת , איך מיקרוסופט הולכת לשלב את ה- OpenID בטכנולוגית ה- CardSpace שלה?

אתמול התחש מפגש נוסף של קבוצת אבטחת המידע , Security User Group .

ארז מטולה העביר הרצאה מעולה בנושא XSS , מבוא , דוגמאות והסבר לכלים לבדיקת XSS באתרים קיימים .

היה מעולה , למי שלא הייתה הזדמנות להגיע , הובטח שהמצגת תעלה בהמשך .

בנוסף פוסט חדש שלי בנושא HTML 5 עלה בבלוג שלנו ב Netcraft .
