Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) is finally rolling out

phone-screen-new-voicemailAbout two hours ago, Microsoft announced the rolling out of Windows Phone 7.5, the highly anticipated version of the Windows Phone OS.

For those of you who already have it, nothing’s new right? well, happy to disappoint you.

Microsoft kept new cool features in the closet for the release of this version.

Here are some of them:

  • Internet Sharing (tethering) – Depends on your carrier, you’ll see that option as Internet Sharing under settings. This cool feature supports up to 5 connections at the same time.
  • Brand new Web Marketplace – Surf the web from your Tablet or Desktop, try, buy and send applications to your Phone.
  • My Windows Phone – New section of WindowsPhone.com, lets you easily find, lock and even erase your phone if it gets lost and gives you lighting fast access to apps, photos and docs.

Here is a list of the full feature set in Windows Phone 7.5.

As Microsoft mentioned, today is just the start. The plan is deliver gradually to more than 98% of existing Windows Phone customers. The update will be available to most existing customers within 4 weeks from now.

To check update status for your phone, choose your location: United States or International.

Now you can seat back and wait till your phone rings, saying that a new version found for your phone.
