Productivity Power Tools turns my Visual Studio into a Zombie

Lately, I've noticed my Visual Studio 2010 run Veerrryyyy Sllooowwww…. in every aspect: Building, Working with the solution, Intellisence and Designer and XAML editor.

Tried to figure out what's going on over there…, I have a pretty nice machine, running on i7, 4G and ATI Mobility Radeon 4670. I'm sure it should run faster!

I suddenly remembered that I've installed the Productivity Power Tools since I'm using one of its great feature to copy and paste Code/XAML from Visual Studio to Live Writer.

So I've just removed it and restarted my Visual Studio.

UNBELIVIABLE! My Visual Studio returned from the Dead ;)

I have encounter the same problem few weeks ago.

I found that they have configuration:

-> Tools\Options\Productivity Power Tools

They have many options to control the features level.

I disabled just few and my machine return to normal :)

a huge deal of performance issues in softwares with plugins comes from the plugins. browsers are a very vivid example of this.

One of the smartest features in IE9 does just that - it informs you if a plugin takes a long time to load, and makes sure you are informed exactly what's causing the problem. I think it's a must for every pluggable software

I found Windows live writer extension: Paste As Visual Studio Code as the best way to copy paste code from VS.

And I tried a few options:

It's funny since I've disabled all features except for the copy-paste one. And still... Maybe this feature killed my VS ;)

Elad, it's more than just measuring the load time. It should keep measuring runtime.
