Visual Source Safe Upgrade Tool for Team Foundation Server

If for some reason you or your company is still using VSS it’s time to move forward!

Team Foundation server supports VSS Migration, until today there were a command line tool allowing you to migrate VSS repository to TFS Source Control – this tool is called – VSSConverter.

VSSConverter command line tool requires configuration file that need manual authoring, but no More!

Microsoft has announce a new wizard based UI tool for upgrading VSS repositories to Team Foundation Server 2012/2010.

Open the tool and start the upgrade, choose VSS local repository.

Specify TFS Team Project destination.

Upgrade type, some VSS are very old and sometimes you don’t want to upgrade the entire VSS history.
