Yesterday evening we’ve held the first meeting of the new Windows Devices user group at Microsoft offices in Ra’anana. This first meeting was dedicated to Windows Phone 7. Elad and I had a lot of fun and we hope you guys had fun as well and learned something along the way. What we’ve done is talk about the Windows Phone platform in general, its capabilities, the tools used to write applications and games, while showing a few demos. We tried to answer as many general questions as we could, and those questions are definitely a basis for future meetings.
I’ve attached my basic presentation. The source code for the XNA game I demoed in the session can be found in these blog posts(part 1, part 2, part 3). You can find our announcements, and hopefully discussions at the new Windows Devices Israel User Group on linkedin. Feel free to register, so you’d be notified of new meetings and other such stuff.
As a reminder, and for those who didn’t attend the meeting, we announced a competition, for which a Windows Phone device is the first prize, to write and publish 3 applications that would pass 3000 downloads (total). The first person to achieve this – wins the phone.
Lastly, if anyone wants to be a presenter in such a meeting, or knows someone who does, please contact Elad or myself via email (our emails is on the first slide of the attached slide deck) or the group in linkedin.
Good luck, and more importantly, have fun!
