After the last happiest lecture I had to go for the last session at teched and give a short for another technical session and I choose the DI & IoC using MEF and Unity lecture by Pavel Y . The hall was pretty full for a lecture which is one of the last sessions at teched… does it mean that finally people understand or want to understand the power of DI & IoC ? well its about time… I’ve been working with developers for more than a decade and it amazes me time after time that people afraid...
The best lecture at TechEd Eilat !!! It looks like a pattern but I find myself more and more attracted to lectures which are not technical… I don’t know if it due to the role I'm in now or the levels of the rest of the lectures but I did found the lecture by Prof. Yoram Yovel which discussed the essence of what makes us happy… work… money… family…to be a lecture that it totally not technical by one of the pearls that you could find over the three days of this event. Wow what a keynote were yesterday ! defiantly one of “the best” key notes I ever been in at Teched worldwide ! Shay Agasi gave an unbelievable speech it surely looks like better place is going to change our world, have you managed to spot the better place electrical car over the video that was presented there ??? Ohh opps – I’ve just been told that… he canceled at the last min and I’ve prepared this blog post 2 weeks ago… what a bummer… So how was the keynotes for you ?
Lecture: Developers Tools and Technologies Keynote During the lecture the internet connection went down… I from someone that during the preparation the speakers were told that everything is redundant… there will not be any issues with network and hardware… Guess what… It always hits whenever you are not ready ! If you plan a lecture and base your connection on wifi… always hold a local copy to work offline using a tweak at your host file or if you insist… have a netstick ready plugged in to...
Not like years back… it’s the first time that I’m arriving to teched without any lecture on my mind… I AM NOT LECTURING AT TECHED 2010 … wow… what it means… I just opened the schedule yesterday night and choose my lectures… I’m in shorts and doesn’t have any worries on my mind. I’ve decided not to go by flight like usual … and drive through to Eilat with Pavel ( for the record we left Shoham at 08:00am and arrived Eilat at 12:00pm with 3 stops on the way… one for a refresh and 2 due to the traffic...

I wanted to reinstall today Windows 7 XP MODE and went over to the download section for the XP Mode and Microsoft over the download section i was happy to find a new option since my last visit to the site which enables you to choose the Windows XP Mode language (the virtual pc image language), as it seems that i had to wait a bit with the happy smile… the list includes large variety of languages.. all the languages that Microsoft produces MSDN packs for … including right to left languages like Arabic...
ביום חמישי בערב ערכנו לכבוד גלן בלוק ארוחת ערב חגיגית ובכן מדוע אני חוזר על פוסט זה ובכן במסגרת הרצאת המליאה היום החליט גלן לשלוח פוסט כולל תמונות מארוחת הערב הנ"ל, הרעיון והפוסט היו ממש נחמדים אולם ברגע שראיתי אותם ישר קפצה לעיני תמונה אחת מסויימת התמונה כשלעצמה חביבה ביותר רק שימו לב לידו של רועי ולמה שמחזיקה ידו.... כן כן כרטיס אשראי , ובכן גלן בתמימותו העלה את התמונה לרשת (במזל ברזולוציה לא כל כך גבוהה) ותמונה זו מכילה את כל פרטי כרטיס האשראי של רועי. כמובן שמייד כשראיתי את התמונה הערתי...
אני לא יודע מה הדבר שהכי מפריע לכם בטקאד אבל הדבר שהכי מפריע לי הוא שאין אינטרנט אלחוטי בחדרים בתור מרצה שיש לו שתי הרצאות על הראש זה שאין לי יכולת לשבת בחדר בשקט ולהכין הרצאה או אפילו לרשום בבלוג מידי פעם... זה הדבר שהכי מפריע לי. אז כן בסוף נשברתי ושילמתי 70 שח ליום על אינטרנט אלחוטי אבל באמת שהייתי מצפה לקלוט שביב אינטרנט אלחוטי אפילו בלובי של מלון רויאל גרדן ולא לשלם על גזלה של יום אינטרנט אלחוטי במחיר של שני חודשי גלישה בבית.
לפעמים אני ממש לא מבין את אנשי הביטחון של חברות התעופה יצא לי ללוות היום את גלן בלוק ממיקרוסופט למטוס בדרך לאילת ולהיות נוכך הן בבדיקה שלו והן בבדיקה של רון ג'קוב גלן היה צריך לבקשת אנשי הביטחון להיזכר בשם הרבי אשר לימד אותו לבר מצווה ואילו אנשי הביטחון הגדילו לעשות כשביקשו מרון ג'קובס שיפרט להם את תוכן ההרצאה שלו ככולל שינסה להסביר לילדונת שרק הרגע סיימה צבא מה זה Test Driven Development כן הייתי נוכח שם, כן ניסיתי להסביר לכולם שאלו מרצים של מיקרוסופט ושיגיעו היום ומחר עוד רבים שכאלו אך...
Unity, the next object builder, had been released yesterday to the wild ! During the preparation for TechEd's Prism deck I've got into core relationship with this new DI Container from Microsoft. One of the patterns which are the basis of Prism is Dependency Injection and as such Prism is designed to use a facade which will enable us to choose our own preferred DI container. Of course we need a default DI container and Unity is the one. So hurry up and download it over here
TechEd Eilat only starting officially tomorrow but for me its already stated on Thursday when I picked up Glenn Block from the airport. On Thursday's evening we had a great dinner and lots of geek discussions around the table, well what can you expect if you put Roy , Udi , me, Itay, Glenn and Oren on the same table. During the talk Glenn showed his way to educate programmers to use patterns & practices products. And since then... during the last couple of days and nights (yesterday... Friday...
