בהתהוות

לפני כמה חודשים, שי-לי ביקשה ממני לפתוח את הבלוג הזה ואני הזהרתי אותה שאני מזניחת בלוגים סדרתית, בדיוק באותה מידה שאני רוצחת עציצים סדרתית, בדיוק באותה מידה שיכולים לעבוד גם חצי שנה, שמונה מילימטרים של אבק ועשרה כיתובים של "בבקשה בבקשה בבקשה תשטפי אותי"/"דן מנו המלך" עד שאואיל בטובי להסיע את המכונית שלי אל תחנת השטיפה הקרובה.

זה לא בהכרח נובע מעצלנות, או מדחיינות (למרות שבנסיבות מסוימות אני עשויה ללקות בשניהם), אלא מכך שבשביל לכתוב אני זקוקה לאיזה סטייט-אוף מיינד מסוים. בפנטזיות שלי זה חדר עם נרות, מוסיקת שאנטי וניחוח קטורת, או לחילופין בית קפה, הפוך עם סויה, מבט נוגה ולפ-טופ סקסי. בפועל, אני יושבת עכשיו במשרד הצבעוני שלי, ובין שורות קוד ב C# מחליטה שזה עכשיו או לעולם לא. ו"עכשיו" זה אומר לכתוב, לפני שיתקיימו התנאים החיצוניים, שלוות הנפש הנדרשת (שכנראה לא תפקוד אותי לפני הבית-אבות) וההשראה השמימית.

כנראה שאלו החסמים היצירתיים שלי - הקושי לעצור את המירוץ של חיים-עבודה-מעבר דירה- עיסוקים-חברים- ארבע וחצי שעות שינה, על מנת לשבת ולכתוב. ודווקא לצייר הצלחתי לאחרונה, אולי כי זה מצריך ממני פחות מחשבה.

As a designer on the ILDC Innovation Labs team, you will help shape the user experience for multiple next generation prototypes and cutting-edge technologies. You will help the team design and prototype creative new initiatives at Microsoft. At the core of your job, you will identify user centered design patterns, think about scenarios, put design into user context, and create interactions that make the complex seem simple.

Primary responsibilities:

· Independently drive design thinking for a core products working closely with PM’s and Product Marketing, to understand the product technology and features, our customers and their specific needs; you will propose design solutions that address those needs.

· Create user task models, UI architecture, wireframe-level design through to prototypes.

· Advocate for your design solutions by putting them in context of business and user goals.

· This role may also include oversight of vendors responsible for related graphics design.

Primary qualifications:

· Advanced degree in HCI, Human Factors, Industrial Engineering, Information Design or related field, with 3-5 years of industry experience.  Masters degree desired.

· Portfolio that demonstrates innovative thinking and stellar interaction design skills.

· Proven ability to work effectively in multiple phases, from deriving highest user needs/strategy, to creating clear design goals, to mocking up design solutions, and providing final UI assets.

· Strong communication skills necessary to effectively present and negotiate design solutions in relation to business goals.

· Strategic thinking skills required to create effective design solutions that balance business needs and user scenarios.
