There is a new project @ CodePlex by Tom Shirley, that addresses a very common problem. It's called the Access Checker Web Part, and It's purpose is to allow site administrators to determine what access a particular user has to content within a Site.

I think AJAX stole the spotlight with MOSS SP1.. The feature I'm most excited with is External BLOB Storage Provider (EBS).

"A large proportion of data files are represented as unstructured binary files—that is, binary large object (BLOB) data files. SQL Server offers less of a gain for binary data than for structured data, so your server farm might gain cost savings by using an external data store to contain your binary data files."

So now we can store big files in regular file system storage, but still benefit from SharePoint's file management features.

There are consequences, and it does seem quite challenging to implement (anyone said COM..?), But I think this is an important feature that everyone should know.

This one may sound trivial to anyone who is more than beginning with SharePoint. But it seems to be a reappearing issue, so I guess it's worth blogging.

SharePoint Central Administration's has a page that allows you to select site collection administrator, you are prompted to specify a site collection administrator, and optionally a secondary administrator.

But there is no reason why you won't have more than tow administrators for a site collection.
Go to the site collection settings page, and click on Site collection administrators. (or open the following page: http://YourSite/_layouts/mngsiteadmin.aspx)

Now add as many users as you wish, separated with semicolons.

Simple huh?

Notice the steep rise in blog traffic on the days after December 31st, when I spoke at the Office User Group at Microsoft.

On the same subject, I have just found out the one of my posts is in the top 10 most viewed pages in Microsoft Israel Blog Community. Cool :)

2. כנסו ל "קבוצות משתמשים" בתפריט הימני.
3. חפשו את "קבוצת משתמשי Office System" וכנסו.
