I'm in Redmond !
Well this is my first time in US and I flew there in order to attend a MS training. It's amazing how the development processes can be different within one organization for better and for worse. I'm planning to benefit from the training as much as possible - learn new methodologies, be exposed to different processes and gain more knowledge off course.

I'm in Cambridge, UK !!!
Well, finally after 3 months delay I moved to UK (with my wife) . The weather - well, I assume no sunglasses will be needed. The food - a lot of people told me that the food is horrible in compare to Israel, well I disagree - the food is very good (not excellent, but very good non the less). The prices - naturally, as every foreigner, I divide and multiply all the time and the outcome is usually in favor of UK. The people - I visited the bank, the police and various shopping centers - all the people...

Lively.com - Evolution in virtual socialization
Google started a new (or at least new to me) site for social gatherings and virtual chats between two or more avatar representatives in Sims style 3D environment. Well, you have a collection of rooms, you have your basic avatars (and you can buy more - here's one of the places that the money will come from). I played with it a bit on the train on my way to work, I don't know what is the recommended bandwidth but although the room materialized rather fast (30 sec's), I couldn't connect...

Insights to development, deployment and management in large scale application
OK, as promised in my previous post I'm going to write above some of the insights I had while working in large scale project (man power, equipment you name it). I'll start from development In this project a lot of the code is automatically generated (about 70%-90%). As such there is a special team that creates these templates by development teams needs. I think it's a good idea because creating templates requires special type of developers and when you have a dedicated team for this job...

A bit on my new job and a lot about the old/current
I'll be joining MS DSL team in UK by the end of this month, at last – after one month delay… Me and my wife are expecting it to be very interesting and challenging. In my current position I'm Microsoft sub contractor in one of Elbit systems command and control project. I'm glad that all my employers (Taldor, Elbit and Microsoft) support me in my decision to go forward and advance professionally and really coming towards me by letting me work although I resigned already (some sort of a...
