There's no formal training to become an architect and every position has its own way of defining what an architect does...

Omer you can say you're an arch. but whether you considered one depends on you and the way you dealing with problems, your experience and people skills.

I know couple *real* arch. and a lot that think themselves as ones. An arch. in my POV is the link between the business and the technology and his decisions must be for the business needs and that's not necessarily goes hand in hand with latest technologies. Regarding the training and qualification in Israel there's no formal way that you can learn to be an architect (and that’s why people just call themselves arch.), around the world you can find various courses and qualifications but real world experience is crucial – you have to make mistakes in order to be able to avoid them and understand the factors for the problems and take the experience to the next thing…
