Microsoft is offering a service that will provide the user with a 500MB storage space which is accessible over the Internet. The information saved on this drive can be either private or shared(with some level of permissions). The information will be saved on the "cloud" (I am guessing hence the name change). This is the second time that Microsoft products uses the concept,the first time was with the Windows Live OneCare 2.0 (beta), where it seems to be offering 10GB for digital photographs backup...
One new tool that is very obvious (appears after you install the server and you close the Initial Configuration window) is Server Manager. Server manage is kind of a Swiss army Knife for your server. A post on the Windows Vista team blog promises that the new OneCare will come with 10GB of online storage to be used as a backup location for digital photographs(at a cost). The post provides a short demonstration of the feature. Wow,10GB. Online backup,kind of blows you away and makes you think about how everything is going online. If network connections speed keeps growing you will no longer need local storage and your data will follow you...Ok,I can't be that positive, think of the ramifications...
