Sharepoint 2010 and Silverlight
I attended a session made by Paul Stubbs (Technical Evangelist). When coming to thing about Silverlight controls within Sharepoint, the user may expects the vivid experience Silverlight can offer, along with all of the abilities of Sharepoint. As both technologies are cross browser and cross platform, it is natural for them to integrate. Think about smooth streaming, out of browser offline UI, rapid development and design & development workflows. This way, we are not bound only to Web-Parts...
Half-a-day with it- and I think I'm in love…
Only half-a-day using my new Acer tablet pc which we got in PDC. It is ON since noon, without recharging the battery, and only half of it is gone… It's so fun and easy to work with, that I can't remember why I ever used a "normal" laptop before! Will it make me give up my "old" laptop? I don't think so. It's not strong enough for writing code. But, it IS strong enough for everything else. This is not a net book but rather quite a nice machine in a small package...
New features in SharePoint 2010 for programmers
Live from PDC I attended two sessions regarding SharePoint 2010 today. One was " Overview of SharePoint 2010 programmability" by Mike Ammerlaan (Program Manager on the Windows SharePoint Services team) and the other was "SharePoint is not just on-premise" by Rob Howard (Program Manager on the SharePoint Designer team). I've learned that SharePoint 2010 programming is about to become a lot easier, more intuitive and straight-forward. I'll start with the fact that SharePoint...

After a long and tiring 25 hour flight- Finally in L.A. for the PDC!
Tired like I've never been, after delayed flights, flying busses, and all kinds of adventures, Noam Sheffer and I finally checked in the hotel. And what do we do, instead of going to sleep after over 28 hours without decent sleep? Exactly: Write emails, address the blogs... Just plain insane.. The convention doesn't start until Monday, so tomorrow will be dedicated for preparations. I will write technological (and other..) news as soon as I hear them. Stay tuned.
Getting ready for Microsoft PDC 2009 and the fore-coming Sela Developer Practice conference!
I can't wait for the up-coming Microsoft PDC 2009 to learn some more about Microsoft's newest technologies. After that, during December 2009, Sela is going to hold the SDP conference, in which my Sela collages and myself- along with Microsoft experts- will explain and demonstrate what we know about Microsoft's newest technology. Of-course, 300/400 level lectures with lots of code and only a few slides… Going to be fun! More details on the weeks to come.
