Team Members

Adds a new node to under each Team Project to the Team Explorer called "Team Members" that  identifies people and who work on the project.  Windows Shell Extension

Allows core version control operations within Windows Explorer without using Team Explorer.

PowerShell Support

· Provides a PowerShell pipeline and cmdlets for TFS.  Initial support is for core version control operations

· tfpt searchcs - The Search Changesets Power Tool brings up a dialog from which the user can search for changesets that match specific combination of criteria including server path, committed date range, committed user, check-in comments, and check-in notes.

· tfpt unshelve /undo - Finds all pending changes in your workspace that match the changes in the shelveset and undoes them (including deleting the local files for pending adds).

Using SharePoint to Develop Internet-Facing Web Sites

We released a new on line training that cover developing internet facing web sites using SharePoint.

The course includes the following topics:

Microsoft Azure - Our cloud services platform

Today, during a keynote at the Professional Developers Conference 2008, Ray Ozzie, Microsoft’s Chief Software Architect, announced Windows® Azure™ the cloud-based service foundation underlying the Microsoft Azure™ Services Platform.

The Azure™ Services Platform is an industry leading move by Microsoft to help developers build the next generation of applications that will span from the cloud to the enterprise data center and deliver compelling new experiences across the PC, web and phone.

The Azure™ Services Platform is an internet-scale cloud computing and services platform hosted in Microsoft data centers.

The Azure Services Platform provides a range of functionality to build applications that span from consumer web to enterprise scenarios and includes a cloud operating system and a set of developer services.

On my lecture at Dev academy I am going to give an overview on Microsoft Azure platform and why to use it.

Abstract

It's a fact: Windows HPC Server 2008 (HPCS) combines the power of the Windows Server platform with rich, out-of-the-box functionality to help improve the productivity and reduce the complexity of your HPC environment.

Windows HPC Server 2008 can efficiently scale to thousands of processing cores and provides a comprehensive set of deployment, administration, and monitoring tools that are easy to deploy, manage, and integrate with your existing infrastructure.

This lecture will provide an overview on Microsoft HPC solution.

15:15-16:00: Introduction to Intel Threading Building Blocks (TBB)

Intel Threading Building Blocks (TBB) is a C++ template library aiming for developing parallel applications running on top of multi-core processors.

The library consists of building blocks (data structures and algorithms) that free a programmer from some complications arising from the use of native threading mechanisms such as threads creation, synchronization, and termination.

TBB abstracts access to the multiple processors by automating the process of data decomposition to small cache-friendly chunks of data called "tasks",  and  then schedules them  to individual cores dynamically in an efficient manner.

This approach enables the programmer to focus in the program logic rather than in the ways to optimize the program to the underlying machine architecture.

Visual Studio® Team System Code Name “Rosario” is the version of Team System that follows Visual Studio Team System 2008. This release provides the earliest public glimpse of the work in progress on the next generation of Team System.

Visual Studio® Team System code name "Rosario" is an integrated Application Life-Cycle Management (ALM) solution comprising tools, processes, and guidance. It enables members of your team to:

• Collaborate and communicate more effectively with other team members and business stakeholders
• Ensure software quality using advanced quality tools at every step of the application life cycle
• Gain visibility into project activity and priorities to make informed decisions based on real-time data

This CTP release is available in English only.
This CTP targets early adopters of the Microsoft technology, platform, and tools offerings. It enables developers to experience the upcoming toolset and underlying platform improvements. We designed this release to enable developers to try out new technology and product changes, but not to build production systems. This limitation is fully covered in the License Terms that accompany this CTP.
