Microsoft had publish the new resource Kit for the Microsoft Application Virtualization 4.5.
Here are the new Tools:
- Application Virtualization Dynamic Suite Composition Tool
Use the Dynamic Suite Composition tool to edit the Open Software Descriptor (.osd) file associated with a virtual application package to create the inter-package dependencies.
- Application Virtualization Cache Resizing Tool
Use the Cache Configuration Tool to configure settings associated with App-V client cache.
- Application Virtualization SFT Parser Tool
Use the SFT Parser Tool to extract the following information from SFT files:
- Validation of SFT files - Process corrupted SFT files, and recover information from corrupted SFT files.
- XML export of contents of SFT - Export the contents of an existing SFT file. You can evaluate SFT segments or SFT metadata and construct a textual tree view of all file information SFT file.
- Listing of all of the files in the SFT - Identify and print the files contained in the SFT with their full paths. This is a good method to quickly identify the contents of a package.
- Statistics about properties of the SFT metadata - Identify statistical information, such the largest file contained in a package. This can be very useful for identifying packages that are too large in size and are causing issues loading on the client.
- Get relevant information on a file in the package - Display size, timestamps, attributes, and version information associated with the package.
- Ability to skip processing of file data if using functionality that requires only the metadata - Allows working with very large packages quickly.
- Application Virtualization Client Log Parser Tool
Use the Client Log Parser utility to extract log entries from one or more application virtualization client logs.
- Application Virtualization Application Listing Tool
Use the Application Listing Tool to display a list of virtualized applications that are currently running.

Are you using a Vista machine and miss having the ability to manage
your servers from you local machine ?
A few months ago Microsoft released the Vista version of the adminpak
tools under the name RSAT (Remote Server Administration Tools).
The RSAT software can be installed only on Business, Enterprise & Ultimate versions
of Vista and requires SP1.
Here are the links for the RSAT downloads:

Two important MPs has been updated, one is the Active Directory Management and the other is the DHCP Management Pack. Windows Server 2008 is now supported for both of them.
The AD MP has s a couple of improvements:
- Discovery of Windows Server 2008 DC and Read Only DC (RODC). Including also the discovery of FSMO roles
- Windows Server 2008 replication monitoring. Including a cool Multiple SLA workflow that can be configured
- Forests that have 2-way transitive trusts can now be discovered and reflected in the improved topology views (Forest, Domain, Site, Site-Link, Replication Connection)
- New essential services roll-up to accurately reflect services such as Sysvol, DFS, NetLogon, DCLocator
- Support for Windows Server 2008 32-bit and also 64-bit
Download those MP (and all others) from the System Center Catalog.
Hyper-V provides new capabilities through its WMI APIs. Learn how to apply these APIs while creating your own solutions from the following Powerpoint Deck.
Check out this presentation on advanced topics in the Windows Graphics remoting architecture (RDP 7).
This talk introduces new Windows 7 remoting features and discusses how they are going to be leveraged in Microsoft's Windows 7 client and server products.
Finally, this presentation covers how you can integrate well with core remoting infrastructure services to enhance your applications to run from anywhere, so that your applications will be available to end-users when they are on-the-go.
Two new IPD guides has been published:
- Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 with R2
- Microsoft Application Virtualization 4.5
