Microsoft officially rebranded the long-developed data analysis add-on at the SharePoint Conference 2009 in Las Vegas this week.

The solution has actually been split into two products:

 SQL Server PowerPivot for Excel and SQL Server PowerPivot for SharePoint. Both are designed to integrate with SQL Server 2008 R2 and SharePoint Server 2010 to create a self-service business intelligence solution for organizations.
