The long awaited Performance Point Server - Service Pack 1

Hello Everyone,

 

Due to un-expected   technical Issues I was unable to make new blog entries for about a week.So please accept my appologies and although one week later, It's a great thrill for me to talk about the long awaited   and  finally it was released.Performance point Server SP1 has been released. What to expect: 

Performance Point Server 2007 - Planning:

·        Excel add-in Performance Improvements:
Clear Changes after workflow action (faster recalculation option).
What-If Analysis Support

·        Improvements in opening a new workflow

·        Kerberos Support

·        User Dimensions

·        Post submission discard option

·        Data Integration Toolkit (Data Import wizard now can be used to harvest any data provider).

 

Performance Point Server 2007 – Monitoring:

·        Setting Up default report views for conditional display.

·        Support for multi selection on Filters (SSRS + VISIO)

·        TI Enhancement: Local Settings + "The day after" fix.

·        Larger MDX statement support (no more 1000 char. Limit)

·        Windows 2008 Server support

·        Partial support for SQL Server 2008 (Would be fully support in SP2).

·        Better Filters performance!!!!
We've been testing this feature for the past two weeks. An Improvement of 50% in performance using filters with large number of members was noticed. (Subjected to hardware issues etc).
