There are few new features and tools such as better tools and documentation for animations, and new Visual studio 2008 templates. However the big news to my opinion is that SDK 5.3 made XBAP hosting deprecated. I tried to find why? And what does it mean? In the documentations, they delete anything regarding WPF (for example they now compare only two technology choices - HTML & MCML). In the template, there is no XBAP template. אחרי עבודה מאומצת של מספר חודשים עלה לאויר המדיה סנטר העברי. במהלך התקופה האחרונה יצא לי לעזור ללא מעט אתרי תוכן שפיתחו אפליקציות למדיה סנטר. בין היתר אתר One, 1010, Brainpop, Flix וכן כתיבת אינסטולר עבור yes. ארוע ההשקה הוא יותר התחלה מאשר סוף. אולי עכשיו חברות אחרות שישבו על הגדר יבינו שכדאי גם להם לפתח תוכן מותאם למדיה סנטר. גם היום אנשים עדיין לא מבינים את החזון. רובם חושבים שמדובר במכשיר שמהווה ממיר חכם + מגלשת אינטרנט טלויזיונית. זה נכון אבל זה החלק הפחות מענייו. החלק המעניין יותר הוא השלם...
בהרצאה שלי ב Microsoft Academy Day הראתי שניתן להפעיל כל דבר במדיה סנטר באמצעות מקשי התנועה + מקש ה OK + מקש ה Back בשלט. למי שבכל זאת משתמש במקלדת ובמיוחד למי שמפתח למדיה סנטר הנה קישור לקיצורי מקלדת למדיה סנטר. למרות שהקיצורים הם למדיה סנטר 2005 רובם פעילים גם בגרסת הויסטה. בנוסף למי שלא מכיר הנה הקישור לדף הראשי של קיצורי מקלדת לאפליקציות של מיקרוסופט.
תמו חודשיים של עבודה אינטנסיבית, של כל דקה פנויה (ולא פנויה) שמושקעת בחיפוש, לימוד, וכתיבת דוגמאות. לא קל ללהרצות בכנסים של מיקרוסופט. הרמה הנדרשת גבוהה, ההשקעה רבה אבל הסיפוק גדול. בהתחלה לוקח זמן לגבש את המצגת, בהמשך יש כאב לב גדול כי צריך להוריד הרבה מהחומרים שנאספו ומהדוגמאות שנכתבו. בהרצאה על ויסטה, בחרתי לספק יותר נושאים ודוגמאות ממה שהיה זמן להראות וסיפקתי אותם כחלק מהחומר שתוכלו להוריד. אני מקווה שמי שהשתתף בהרצאות נהנה והשכיל, ומי שלא שיוכל לראות את ההקלטות. אשמח לקבל משובים מעבר למשובים...
