I really enjoyed taking part in the E4D expert day. The organization, atmosphere and the audience were perfect. I'd like to thank Eyal and Sarit for the opportunity to deliver three lectures in this event. I'd like also to thank the professional people that came to hear me. I enjoyed the interaction, the hard questions, the comments and feedbacks you have provided. For those of you that took part in one of my seminars, please contact me and request a link to the materials download sites....

When something become a main stream it is no longer a niche
Microsoft has shut down its Windows Phone MVP program ; they will reopen it as more consumer-focused group. I don't know all the reasons for that, and I would appreciate if they could rearrange the group without retire all mobile MVPs, but I think that there is something else that this news tells us. Windows Phone is not a niche, it is part of something bigger, and the client/consumer device story is changing. We consume information through our PC, Phone, Slate device, TV, Xbox. All of them are...

The first meeting of the Windows Platform Developers User Group
Come and join Pavel and me to the first meeting of the Windows Platform Developers user group . If the Windows platform is interesting you (and it probably does, otherwise you won’t be reading this post) you have to come. This is the chance to influence the spirit of the group. Pavel and I wanted to have a group for people like us. Those who develop for Windows with any needed tool, not just .NET or C++ but both and even more. The first meeting will be about Windows NT 6.1, this is the shortest way...

Sela Developer Practice
We are going to the PDC . And when I say we, I mean 17 experts and 3 managers from Sela . This year we are going to be in all sessions and meet many key professionals from Microsoft and other companies. We will also have a booth . Why do I tell you that? Not just to tell you that it is fun to work at Sela (It is, but it is also very demanding) and that we are investing in our people, but to announce that we are going to talk about all current and new technologies that will be revealed in the PDC...

Changes to the Ribbon in The Windows 7 RTM
In these days I am finishing writing the second chapter of two in a book about Windows 7 Developmen t. I have joined the other authors of the book to assist and I am writing about developing the Windows Ribbon . The first chapter deals with the XAML language of the native Ribbon, while the second chapter deals with the code behind. The first chapter is already went to the editor. About couple of days ago, I have got a mail from the editor that says that other writers found some differences between...

Windows 7 RC Training Kit
More of our work is available to download. Microsoft has published the Windows 7 training kit . the kit includes the PowerPoint decks, the demos and HOLs. This is a great way to learn the new and cool features of Windows 7. The kit was developed by Yochay Kiriaty (DPE Redmond) with a lot of work of Dima, Sasha and myself. We took the PDC 2008 slides, fixed them, added new information, developed new demos and created new Hands-On-Lab for most of the features. Microsoft will soon publish another demo...

Finally – Our Windows 7 .NET Wrappers are out
During the last few months a small team from Sela , has developed course materials, exercises and demos for the DPE Metro Program, that show how to develop with the new features of Windows 7. As you may know, all of the new feature of the system are exposed to native developer, using Win32 API and COM. To use C# and .NET we developed set of wrappers. Sasha developed the Taskbar wrappers, and also wrote about it in his blog. Dima developed the Sensor & Location Platform wrappers and I developed...

Teched Eilat - Summary & Thoughts
TechEd Eilat is over. I am sitting at the train station at Ben-Gurion Airport, there is a wireless connection and not less important an electricity outlet (those who know me, know that my laptop needs a power plant). I have many good things to tell about the TechEd and some not so good. It was fun as always, as opposed to Tamir , I know that most of the lecturers invested so much time in their preparations. I am happy that all the lecturers from Sela did a great job and that the feedbacks that we...

TechEd 2007 Europe is Over
So, another TechEd is over. Last TechEd I worked in the "Ask the Expert" booth, this TechEd I gave a lecture on developing for the Vista Media Center. The lecture was in the first day, so after that I have the time to go to sessions and most important to meet people. My session score was not high, but since it was my first lecture in TechEd Europe, it is O.K. Most of the comments that I have got were about dissatisfaction about issues in the Media Center SDK and tools, such as no tool such...
