SQL Server 2008 Release Date Delayed

Microsoft has announced Friday that it will delay the release of SQL Server 2008 to the third quarter of 2008. Microsoft has further stated that they are still dedicated to releasing their database software application within 24 to 36 months after its predecessor, SQL Server 2005. This means that the "Heroes Happen Here" event to launch the 2008 platform on February 27th will include Windows Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008 and a "feature complete" preview for SQL Server 2008. SQL Server 2008 Virtual Event

A virtual event for SQL Server 2008 will be held on January 24th. The lectures on BI are: Reporting Services with SQL Server 2008 + Integration with MOSS Getting a Handle on Data Cleansing in SSIS There are more lectures for developers, including one by Itzik Ben Gan who founded and manages the Israeli SQL Server and OLAP Users Group.
